FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MANUAL OSTEOPATHIC THERAPIES AND OTHER COMMON THERAPIES (MASSAGE, CHIROPRACTIC, MEDICAL AND/OR PHYSICAL)?

We work together with other medical interventions to provide you with a wholistic approach to your health.

Clients of Manual Osteopathic Therapies are assessed through hands on examinations and manipulations. We also have a homeostatic approach to your health meaning we factor in as many considerations such as diet/digestion, sleep, blood pressure, psychosocial aspects, menstration and so much more for a patient-centered approach.

The main difference is that osteopaths tend to use more rhythmical and gentler techniques while chiropractors use stronger, high-velocity manipulative techniques. Chiropractors may also use modalities such as ultrasound and various electrotherapies for pain relief while osteopaths generally rely on hands-on manual techniques to relieve pain. Essentially, both offer valuable and useful services, and each can be included in a holistic healthcare regimen.
